How many people were on the train to begin with?
Lets assume number of passengers initially were X
At first station 19 got off and 17 got in, means passengers where X – 19 + 17
Now there are 63 passengers in train that means X – 19 + 17 = 63
that also means X = 65
So the answer to the puzzle is there were 65 people on the train initially.
